A look back at history of JUTA & why have we decided to produce artificial turf?
JUTA 15 is the youngest of all JUTA factories. The origin of JUTA company dates back to the 2nd half of 19th century when private factories were producing yarns, fabric, bags, twines and cables from natural materials, especially from jute and linen. After the World War I these companies were united as JUTA Ltd. The HQ based in Prague was established in 1948 and it was moved to its current location in Dvůr Králové nad Labem a year later.
Progressive changeover from natural fibres to synthetic materials occured during the 2nd half of 20th century. The first extruders for polypropylene tape were installed and JUTA started the production of nonwoven textile, agrotextile and geotextile (for more details on JUTA a.s. please visit www.juta.eu). The increasing demand for all-year sports fields, the wide-spreading ecological attitude towards increasing water consumption and our rich experience in manufacturing woven textile led to the idea of establishing a new JUTA plant and launching the artificial turf production.
